En liten text om ett stort band

Tänkte att ni kanske ville läsa en liten text jag har skrivit i engelskan om the clash. Ni måste in läsa om ni vill men här kommer den i alla fall:

The Clash

I choose to write about The Clash, a great Punk-rock band. They bring me up when I’m down and take’s me higher when I’m already up.

The Clash started in London in 1976. The first members were Joe Strummer on guitar and song, Mick Jones also on guitar and song, Paul Simonon on bass and song, Keith Levene on guitar and Terry Chimes on the drums. There manager were Bernard Rhods also called Bernie.

From the beginning Mick Jones were supposed to teach Paul Simonon how to play the guitar, but he didn’t bother to learn it so he played the bass instead.

In Swedish The Clash means “sammanstötning”. Paul Simonon suggested it after reading about a riot in the news paper.

There first album were recorded in 1977 it was named “The Clash”. It were published by the record company CBC.

When The Clash signed for CBS the punk fanzine “Sniffin glue” wrote the famous citat “The punk died when The Clash signed for CBS”.

There most successful and famous record were “London calling”. It’s often ranked as one of the best rock albums ever and I agree. Joe Strummer and Mick Jones wrote most of the songs. The record were produced by Guy Stevens.

There last record were relists in 1985 it was called “Cut the crap”, the only original members left on that record were Joe Strummer and Paul Simonon. This record was taken away from the official discography later.

In 2003 Joe Strummer, Paul Simonon, Terry Chimes and Topper Headon were selected to be in the Rock and Roll hall of fame.

2003 and 1986 were two sad years for The Clash and the howl music world. In 1986 The Clash split up. In 2003 Joe Strummer died. I think that is one of the biggest lost in the world of music.

I think that a world without The Clash would be a much more boring world. I also think that without The Clash the world of music would look much different and I don’t think the punk would have been as big as it is without them.
